Research

For three years, I researched the use of Virtual Reality with affective music with Stress and Anxiety. I started this in the Universitat Pompeu Fambra Music Technology Group and finished the research analysis.

For this work, I built an environment in Unity based on the Spanish-FRENCH pyrenees. I used classical music as well as an indian shamanic track to test the effect of music on emotional state. I measure skin conductance and heart rate during these tests. The overall results were that the track that was designed to be relaxing along with a spring environment proved to be the most relaxing for the ANXIETY group participants.

Below you can see a demo of the Max patch created for the biosensors and music.

In addition to this, I have also advocated for the use of creative technology and maker based education  in Music Technology education and have written a paper on this topic.
