Communard (Alayna Hughes) is an American electronic-rock musician and audiovisual artist based in Valencia Spain since 2013. She is a multi-instrumentalist playing drums, guitar, bass, vocals, synth and also records, mixes, and masters her music.With a professional background in engineering and production, Alayna uses this technical expertise to experiment with sound design techniques to craft songs about political and social issues.

She has experimented with sensors, wearables, controllers, and using mixed reality in live performance. In 2022, she was part of the Keychange program as an Innovator. In 2023 she released several new songs and in 2024 is branching out to write Spanish language songs, continuing to experiment with visuals, and sound design.
